Let us not forget...
Let us not forget the people that died that day.
Let us not forget the sacrifice so many of them made to save another that day.
Let us not forget the great leadership we had after that day.
Let us not forget the evil that caused the events of that day.
I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing on September 11, 2001. I’m sure most of you could tell me where you were, also. Truth is though...where we were or what we were doing doesn't matter. It’s the feelings and actions of unity after that day that matter. Why is it that over the past twenty years we keep these insignificant details at a moment's recall, but we can't keep the unity and love for our fellow Americans that we had in the days and months following that horrific day??
My heart is so heavy for our country right now. Of course, I care for all nations… but America is my home. It's supposed to be the land of the FREE and home of the BRAVE. More and more, I see those things fading. This country was formed on Christian principles for us to have the freedom to worship our Lord and Savior without being persecuted or treated like a hate group. Those days are fading...right along with the morals, values, and original principles of our country. Evil is changing them and will continue to change them if we, as Christians, do not stand up for what is right. We must be able to discern between truth and lies! To do that, we need to be in God’s Word constantly. We need to be in prayer and we need to follow where he leads us.
There are many verses in the Bible that tell us not to be deceived by these wolves in sheep’s clothing. There are a few that stand out to me right now…
Romans 16:17-18 says “I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.”
1 John 4:1 says “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
Matthew 7:15 says “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”
Colossians 2:8 says “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”
Matthew 24:11-13 says “And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
2 Timothy 4:3 says “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions.”
Being a Christian today in America is harder than it was twenty years ago...even living in the Bible Belt of our country. We see the sins of the world caving in around us, we feel the hateful looks and eyerolls of others when we claim Him. How did it get this way? Why has it gone so far? Christians have taken their freedoms in America for granted. It is time to be bold and stand up in His name! We have become fearful of what others might say or what they might think...but the truth is none of that matters. WE need to break free from the fear and learn to be fearless!
We need to be the BRAVE again… for Our God, for our Country that He blessed us with, and for the people of our great Nation!
DO NOT stand for our freedoms to be taken away one at a time, because before you know it… our freedom to worship will also be gone. Watch out for wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Today, I pray for all the friends and families who lost someone in the events of September 11, 2001. I pray they have peace and comfort. I pray that we could come back together as a nation like we were in the months following that day and that their deaths were not in vain. I pray that my fellow Christians will be bold and no longer fearful...so that we can be His hands and feet. Let us go out into our country and the rest of the world and do His work.
How will you show your love for Christ today? Will you proclaim His name above all others?
Be Bold! Be Brave! Let us not forget what our Heavenly Father has done for us!
Much Love,
LB
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
